This short and easy setting of Isaac Watts' marvellous hymn was written for the choir of All Saints', Hessle: an ancient church which stands in the shadow of the Humber Bridge. During 2026 the church's spire was repaired and restored, and this short anthem was one of several written to celebrate and commemorate that achievement.

The text beautifully expounds upon the inspiration of the saints, who point us towards Christ and "their triumph through his death", and then reminds us that we are part of that long cloud of witnesses.
