I have been attracted to the poetry of John Donne since school days. As the Quakers might say "he speaks to my condition".

The first song takes its text from one of Donne's Holy Sonnets, the second is an impassioned prayer for forgiveness, written towards the end of his life, and the third is a free adaptation of words from one of his sermons.

These pieces can be performed as a triptych or separately, as desired.
